The Marcus Abramzik Acoustic Trio is back by popular demand! After selling out their show at Evergreen last year, we’re bringing them back for another Vintage Jazz Club. Part of Evergreen’s Jazz Fest Weekend, join us as we transform the Rehearsal Hall into an old school jazz club with smooth music and cool vibes. You don’t want to miss it!
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Marcus Abramzik | Marcus Abramzik is a bassist, producer and composer based out of Coquitlam B.C. He has performed extensively throughout North America, Europe, and parts of Asia over his time as a bassist, and has performed in many genres of music from pop, jazz, country, fusion, indie rock, Rock n Roll and classical. Marcus is currently recording his debut solo record of his own compositions, which is slated to be released in late 2023.
Thomas Houlden | Thomas Houlden is an active Vancouver-based jazz performer and educator. He’s studied and worked in Vancouver and Toronto as a brass player and composer with Brad Turner, John MacLeod, Terry Promane, and Jill Townsend. As n instrumentalist, he is heavily influenced by Thad Jones, Bob Brookmeyer, Kenny Dorham, and Booker Little. His compositions for the Thomas Houlden 11-tet can be found on his YouTube channel and an his Toronto sextet’s EP, “The Price of Wisdom,” can be found on Bandcamp.
James Dekker | James Dekker is a pianist and saxophonist based in Vancouver B.C. He attended the Capilano University Jazz Studies program and performed with such notable performers as Donny McCaslin, Maria Schneider, Ambrose Akinmusire, Dee Daniels and many others. He is able to cross multiple genres of music from classical, to jazz, to pop.
