Evergreen’s spooktacular Halloween event is back for another year. Join us as we bring 3 storytellers to chill, thrill, delight and excite you with some original horror stories that will keep you up at night. Free hot chocolate, candy, and spooky décor, as we sit round a campfire for a night of spooky tales! Come down to Evergreen (in costume) for a horrific night of fun for the whole family!
ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
CASEY POR | Casey is a local actor, writer, director and musician based in Coquitlam BC. He studied theatre at The University of the Fraser Valley for two years before transferring to BCIT to study broadcast and television production. Since then he has appeared in stage productions all over the Greater Vancouver Area doing theatre, improv, and hosting the occasional burlesque show. He recently completed production on the series Dandyland, an educational comedy show about LGBT issues now streaming on Telus Optik TV. Casey lives across the street with his partner Ashley, Ashley’s little sister Maddie, their dog and the ghost of their cat.
KELSI JAMES | Kelsi James (she/they) is a white queer and asexual theatre creator, producer and performer, currently working on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh. Kelsi has a degree in Musical Theatre (Sheridan) and a certificate in ASL & Deaf Studies (VCC). Kelsi is honoured to have had their work performed in over 30 Canadian cities, as well as in China and the Philippines. Kelsi is passionate about new work and its capacity for tender, human-to-human social change.
SARVIN ESMAEILI | Born and raised in Tehran, Iran, Sarv Star (Sarvin Esmaeili) is a queer multidisciplinary theatre artist; healer, actor, poet, puppeteer and storyteller. They’ve been living and creating on the land of Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh nations for 11 years now. Sarv graduated from Studio 58’s acting program in 2020. Since then, they have been acting and creating theatre in local companies like Greenthumb (The Mixolydian 2023), vAct (Hair Hair Everywhere 2023) Rice & Bean (Maman do you love me 2022?), Rumble/Medusa (Menat Style 2022) and Blackout Theatre (STAND 2022 Festival Organizer). Sarv puppeteered at the International Theatrical VALISE Festival in Lomza, Poland. Their aim is to experience human emotions fully while unmasking and bringing in the child’s curiosity / playful energy and deep ancestral intergenerational connections into the room. Their ultimate desire for being an artist is to heal, to be free and be in community. Sarv is co-founder of Queer Soul Poets Collective.
