There’s no better place to celebrate Canada Day than here in Coquitlam. This year’s celebration is back at Town Centre Park on Tuesday, July 1, and everyone’s invited. The festivities begin at 12 p.m. and wrap up at 10:30 p.m. following a spectacular fireworks display.
This all-ages, free event is your ticket to a full day of excitement, connection, and community fun! Enjoy live music, food trucks, hands-on activities, and cultural performances with plenty of space to relax and take it all in.
Whether you’re coming for the food, the entertainment, or the festive summer atmosphere, it’s a day worth spending together. So, round up your family and friends for a full day of fun in the heart of Coquitlam.
Enjoy Entertainment All Day Long
From the first notes in the afternoon to the final fireworks boom, Coquitlam’s Canada Day entertainment lineup brings energy and nonstop talent. Catch crowd favourites like Danielle Ryan and the Bakara Band as they hit the main stage with everything from country to Persian pop. Over at the Meadow Stage, expect surprises from R&B, Beatles tribute, K-pop dance crews, and even martial arts performances with flair.
As the sun begins to set, the energy ramps up with even more excitement on stage. Dr. Strangelove takes the stage at 8:15 p.m., and they truly know how to start a party. With five lead vocalists, decades of experience, and a fearless approach to covers, this band jumps from The Beatles to Lady Gaga without missing a beat.
Music leads straight into fireworks at 10 p.m., so be sure to bring a blanket, grab a snack, and make a night of it.
Dig Into Something Delicious
If you follow the scent of sizzling skewers, bubbling cheese, and freshly baked treats, you will be led straight to Eat Street. This year’s food truck lineup is stacked with flavour, serving everything from crisp fried dumplings to gooey poutine, smoky barbecue, and lots of sweet treats.
There’s something for every craving and comfort level, with plenty of vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and nut-free options available. Whether you’re in the mood for a handheld snack or a full-on feast, you’ll find it here. Highlights include Big Red’s Poutine, Japadog, Rocky Point Ice Cream, and more.
Thirsty? Make your way to Brew Corner between 1 and 9 p.m. for a cold pint from Mariner Brewing or a fruity cocktail from NiceLife. Just be sure to bring a credit or debit card as Brew Corner is a cash-free facility.
Have Fun with Activities for All Ages
Looking to burn off some energy between bites and stage sets? You’ll find plenty of ways to play across the festival lawn and beyond.
Challenge your crew to mini golf, scale the climbing wall, or take a turn down the inflatable slide (weather permitting). Curious about electric rides? The e-bike and scooter demo area, courtesy of Lime, is a great place to try something new.
You’ll also find hands-on activities throughout the park. Get creative in the Eco Zone, snap a photo in the giggle booth at Coquitlam Lane, or take a break in the shaded seating area at The Meadow. This is also where you’ll catch interactive performances, cultural showcases, and community groups sharing art, stories, and local pride all day long.
Getting There and Making the Most of the Day
Town Centre Park is easy to get to and thoughtfully designed so everyone can enjoy the day. The event grounds are just a 10-minute walk from Lafarge Lake–Douglas SkyTrain station, with a paved, clearly marked path leading straight into the park.

Designated pick-up and drop-off zones are also available, with accessible parking stalls and entrances throughout the site.
Accessibility features include wheelchair-friendly viewing areas at both entertainment stages and fireworks zones, accessible washrooms (including gender-neutral options), and lower-access water stations.
