Costumes, candy, haunted houses, spooky decorations… boo! Even though Halloween lands on a Monday this year, celebrations have already begun. Here are 10 ways to “Halloween” in Coquitlam.

Vancouver Horror Nights at Coquitlam Centre: Taking up over 100,000 square feet over two floors, Vancouver Horror Nights has set up in the vacant Sears site at Coquitlam Centre. The new 5-million dollar Scream Park features 8 all-new immersive experiences to terrify and thrill guests this Halloween season. It also features a full-service concession with hot food, coffee, hot chocolate and a Zombie Bar for adults. While most of the experiences are for those aged 13+, there is also an attraction called the Boogyman Bash for kids aged 3 – 10. Want to know more? Heritage Halloween with the Coquitlam Heritage Society: This fun Halloween extravaganza is back on Saturday, October 29. Join Coquitlam Heritage Society staff for their popular haunted Mystery Train Station, take a photo with a princess or super hero, get your face painted, make crafts and have some yummy treats! Trunk ‘n’ Treat at Westwood Plateau Golf and Country Club: Westwood Plateau Golf and Country Club welcome’s everyone to their very first Trunk ‘n’ Treat taking place on Monday, October 31.  Come dressed to impress in your spookiest attire and join them for a night of trick or treating with a twist. Trunk ‘n’ Treat will test your Halloween décor skills with prizes for the best decorated trunk and other fun activities. Registration starts at 5 p.m. where you will receive a bag of candy, drink voucher and lot number. Trunks must be ready to accept trunk ‘n’ treaters by 6:30 pm. Haunt & Hunt at Coquitlam Centre: Bring your kiddos to Coquitlam Centre on Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30 from 12 – 3 p.m. for a virtual Halloween Scavenger Hunt! Use CQC’s Haunt & Hunt app on your iOS or Android device to locate six treat stations around the Shopping Centre. At the end of the hunt, participants will be able to enter for a chance to WIN 1 of 4 Haunted Halloween Prizes valued at over $150 each. Pre-registration is strongly recommended. Registered participations will receive instructions on how to download the Scavenger Hunt app on their iOS or Android device closer to the actual event date. Halloween in Asylum at the Hard Rock Casino: Join the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver on Saturday, October 29 for some Haunting Spirits and Wicked Brews. Kicking off the party at 8 p.m., dance the night away to the DJ on the turntable, as well as live music from “The Collective” happening in Asylum. Come dressed to impress in your Halloween costume and if your one of the top 3 best dressed, you could walk away with some sweet treats (19+).

Halloween Skate at Poirier:  Dress in costume, lace up your skates and get on the ice for a Halloween Skate on Sunday, Oct. 30 from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m. or 2:45 to 4 p.m. at Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex.
