If you’re looking for new outdoor spaces while enjoying the last of the nice weather, lace up your shoes or get out on your bike in one of Coquitlam’s newer park amenities: Riverview Forest Park.

Located in the heart of Coquitlam on Mariner Way across from Mundy Park, the trail system was recently renovated with support from FortisBC and is great for mountain bikers, hikers and trail runners. With more than 750 metres of upgraded trails, it’s a must on your fall to-do list.

Hiking and Trail Running

Enjoy the beautiful scenery of thick foliage and a flowing creek in this serene park. Though you are close to the real world, this park provides an escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. With multiple access points and various trail routes, each visit to the park can feel like a new adventure. Stick to the main routes or venture off into the winding and diverse smaller trails for your forest-bath refresh.

Mountain Biking

Get out and explore the fresh flow track for mountain bikers. No need to worry if you are an intermediate or even beginner level rider – the park was upgraded with you in mind. The Tri-Cities Offroad Cycling Association (TORCA) helped to design the renewed off-road track to suit all riders. With signage and fencing, your ride through the sneaky doubles, twists and pumps of this park will be an invigorating breeze.

Bike Gear and Maintenance

Pump up your tires or make minor fixes at Coquitlam’s free bike maintenance stations, which are equipped with tools required for basic repairs. You’ll find them outside Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex, 633 Poirier St., and City Centre Aquatic Complex, 1210 Pinetree Way. If you’re looking for a bike shop, try Kinetik Cycles on Barnet Hwy. at Falcon Dr.
